Travel back in time to the New World in the mid 1600's to a place of conflict and romance!  Heather Flower, the daughter of the Great Sachem Wyandanch of the Montaukett Tribe was kidnapped on her wedding day by the fierce Narragansett Tribe after watching the Narragansett kill her husband.  The Narragansett left Heather Flower tied up and alone in the wilderness to die.  She was rescued by a Dutch man, Dirk Van Buren, and taken to safety by Benjamin Horton, an English man, who has known Heather Flower since her childhood.  Benjamin returns Heather Flower safely to her aunt where Heather Flower mourns the loss of her husband while her rescuer, Dirk, and her childhood friend, Benjamin, vie for her attention.

It is a time of conflict between the Dutch, English, and Indians and also a time of conflict for Heather Flower who after mourning the loss of her husband is torn between a Dutch man and an English man.  When things heat up between the Dutch and English Heather Flower worries for the safety of both men.  When one fails to return she plans to marry the other and then the unexpected happens!  Which man will Heather Flower choose?  Well you will have to read to the end to find that out!
